I want to detect the version of the JVM that is being used by the
browser, for both IE & Firefox (and maybe also Opera & Safari if
possilbe).
I have searched around the web for such a program, however it seems
that all I can find is people that have done it by means of a Java
appplet. This is all very well, but it doesn't help me because I want
to return the result (version & Supplier) to the browser to fill in a
webform. I would prefer if this could be done in Javascript.
This is fairly simple in netscape because navigator.plugins is
populated with the info that I want. However Microsoft haven't
implemented this in IE. So it doesn't work in IE.
Does anybody know a simple way of doing this that a NON-Java developer
could use?
