You should read carefully what each installer installs. Not all of these were needed.
jre-1_5_0_10-windows-i586-p-iftw.exe
jdk-1_5_0_10-nb-5_5-win.exe
The jdk installer also installs the jre.
java_app_platform_sdk-5_02-windows-nojdk.exe
java_ee_sdk-5_02-windows.exe
Not sure about this one, but doesn't java_ee_sdk also install Java? In any event, both of these install J2EE.
J2EE-SDK-Callisto-Fall-Maintenance-win32.zip
apache-tomcat-5.5.20.zip
Tomcat is another Web App server, covering the JSP/Servlet part of the spec that the other JEE kits also install.
For Linux I have downloaded (so far):
jdk-6-linux-i586.bin
jdk-6-nb-5_5-linux.bin
Both of these install the JDK (and JRE). The 'nb' version also installs the Netbeans IDE.
java_ee_sdk-5_02-linux.bin
I have also downloaded tutorial:
javaee-5-doc-tutorial-1.0_01.zip
and Oracle 10g database:
10201_database_win32.zip
10201_database_linux32.zip
Oracle is a large product, by which I mean it has a plethora of features, utilities and management procedures to use. It is possible to get by with knowing a small part of all that, as I do, but also worth considering getting a db like PostgreSQL that has a lower entrance ramp.
Read through the Sun tutorials, at least the parts regarding the Java(tm) language and JSPs and servlets. If you are starting from the beginning with respect to all these technologies at once, then be very patient with yourself.
