They do. For example, people don't like to buy a car that they have to
drive several hours to another city to get serviced. I know this
affects manufacturers as large as Fuji Heavy Industries, who seem to
sell significant numbers of cars only in pockets of the USA such as
Colarado and Washington and New England.
