MCL for OS X worth the price?

I am really confused about MCL.

Years ago I bought the MCL version that runs on a Mac. That version
was "created" on Friday, Nov-1st, 2002 at 4:38 PM. It was supposedly
"version 5", although the file itself was listed as version 5.5

In any event, that version will not run "native" on Mac OS X.

As I recall, I think I paid about $700 for it, however I got
sidetracked and never used it to develop any programs for sale.

Now Digitool is advertising a "native OS X" version 5 on their website
!!!

I am getting disgusted with these version games and Digitool's high
priced licenses.

What, pray tell, do Lisp developers use nowadays to develop commercial
software when using a Mac. Do they still use MCL, or some other
development environment.

FWIW, Digitool's prices seem out of line to me. I don't mind paying
for a good development environment if it is really needed.

That is my main question here, is Digitool's product really worth the
high prices they charge, or do present-day CL developers use other
lower priced development environments?

Any opinions one way or the other appreciated, before I goof and buy
more Digitool software.
