I think that you have a fair point concerning the lack of actual games
written in Lisp. But I don't understand the rest of your post really.
You say that Lispers only have Naughty Dog as an example, and then you
just ask for an example... huh? Having an example is proof that
something can be done - so therefore it is already proven that it is
possible to write a PS2 game using Lisp. By extension it ought to be
possible to write a Lisp game for the PC. However, right now it is
probably very very hard to do because there are few (no?) tools that
are geared toward writing games in Lisp - so you have to write them
yourself.
Its like a learning curve thing, notepad has almost no learning curve
as an editor, while Vim and Emacs have steep curves - but which is
ultimately more powerful? Not notepad.
So, yes - right now C++ is easier to write small games in, because the
tools are there. Once Lisp has the tools (or access to the C tools)
then I suspect things may be different.
Also, I doubt that OpenGL is really going away - it is a stable, mature
API that developers like to use.
