formmail & SSL ?

I have a working form, using formmail.php, but when I go to the page using
[shared] SSL it errors out because it's no longer getting http_referer.

Is there a workaround for this? I wanted to secure the form page due to some
sensitive info being entered. Perhaps there's an alternative to what I'm
attempting?
