Writing a XLS (Excel) file with PHP

Hi,

I want to write a XLS file with PHP.
I need to do the folowing:
  create sheets (with names)
  write numbers and strings (in different cells on different sheets)
  and modify the column with.
Can anyone help me with this or give me a link where to get information to
do this????
