Yes, cron job can be usefull, if you create a specific directory for the
images, then I suggest you take a look at tmpwatch, which is a small script
for deleting old files from directories, just add the directory that you save
the images to and maybe shorten the max lifelength for them. I know that
atleast most RedHat based distros (RedHat, Fedora, Mandrake, PLD,...) seems to
have this script and even so Gentoo. Run once per day in default settings.
