How to fetch client-information

Hi PHP-Community!

I'm currently working on some statistics for my website and I'd like to know which functions I could use for getting client-specific data, such as IP-address, browser-type and operating system.

Online documentation just does not provide any useful help - I hope you guys can ;)

Perhaps with a small example code.
