no, but such certification is *very* overrated and hardly comes into play
when seeking employment. at least that has been my experience. more often
than not, you will be more likely a candidate if you have related experience
relevant to what the employer wants done. it is a struggle with the initial
job however the struggle just means hard work on your part in seeking jobs
and is far less expensive to overcome than a perceived advantage of
certification.
most work i get these days is completely by reference...so work your ass off
on your first job, then keep a high standard of quality on all jobs, but
just work smarter at that point.
the best recommendation i would say is for you to program a php website
resume that encompases the most common functionality found in websites and
give each page the ability to pull the page's source code into the browser
on demand so the perspective employer can see the standards you follow and
how you put php to use. to me as an employer, i'd rather see something like
that any day over useless and expensive 'i got this certification but
haven't a clue how to put what it represents to use' certificates.
but that's just my 0.02 usd.
