There are newsgroups that exist ENTIRELY for you to test with. Please use them instead of annoying the newsgroups you intend to use, which is less likely to get you plonked before you even post a 'real' message.
Your signal to noise ratio is nearing 1 ... which is the idiot's plane of existence. Please increase the signal and reduce the noise.
Just curious.
I could be wrong, but signal to noise ratio:
ratio = (Power signal)/(Power noise)
So isn't his signal to noise ratio extremely small instead of nearing 1?
Yes, Erwin, that's the typical math involved. Less noise means clearer signal. 'Nearing' does not indicate from which direction the approach began, only that a weaker signal was being reached...a value of 1.
500 / 500 == 1
500 / 200 == 2.5
500 / 100 == 5
Notice the noise is reduced and the signal throughput has increased. I'm not sure where you're going with this though. I have to agree, "his signal to noise ratio *is* extremely small". If you believe it is less than 1, you are saying the amount of noise is greater than the signal. Again, I have to agree. :)
