extreme newbie has a question about phpbb

Hi,
I have a web page that needs a message board. I am not a software
engineer and most of what I read about phpbb I don't understand. Is
there some book like pphpbb for dummies I can read with lots of
pictures? If I have to be a software engineer to use this board is
there an easier message board available?
