I have PHP 5.2.4 installed as package on Mac OS X 10.5 Can I use "port
install php5" (5.2.5) to update existing version, or should I move it
out of the way? What will happen?
If you installed the previous version using macports, then yes, you should
just be able to install the new version over the top.
If you installed the previous version some other way (e.g. DMG, fink,
compiled from source, etc) then you should probably remove it first before
installing the new version.
