It was awfully nice, "a great improvement on its successors", to
steal a line from Sir Tony.

Is there anything like it for PHP? I've been doing development
using the same debugging tools -disclosure code- that we were
using 35-40 years ago! It gets old when working on a big
project not to mention slowing things down to a crawl.

I'm already using a very helpful editor (slickedit), so I'm
covered there. But it has no debugging capability. And I don't
have the time to write a debugger myself.

Any suggestions from those who remember the Borland IDE?
You know there is Delphi for PHP? It is just the same editor concept
but
for editing PHP. It comes with single-step debugging support among many
other interesting features. You may want to read these reviews of
Delphi
for PHP 2 and 1 that I wrote some time ago:

What's the matter, Manuel. Why don't you tell people this is your own
site, and you're trying to run up your hit rate (so you can get more
money from advertisers)?

"that I wrote some time ago"

Sounds like full disclosure to me.

Roger.
Not at all. He talks like it's someone else's blog site. I've posted a
lot of things on other websites. So have many people here.

Manual does this regularly - tries to direct people to his site, but
never tells them it is his own site. He needs to increase his hit count
so he can get some advertising.

Big yawn, we've all got to make a living. I don't count it as spam -
it's on topic and he is providing help even if it is in his self
interest to do so.

Roger.

I'll also add - what I have made available is not germane to this discussion. But if you look back, Manuel's ONLY answers to questions are to see something on his website - and he never identifies it as his website.

I wouldn't argue if he posted sample code here (as many do). I wouldn't mind if he identified it as "see such and such on my website www.example.com/sample.html".

But he does neither.
