Problems with bmp images

I wrote a php application some time ago that now should run in a Windows98
server.
Never mind the unfortunate choice of o.s., the application works. I have
only one problem:
calling the function printer_draw_bmp() I get a warning:
Warning: printer_draw_bmp() [function.printer-draw-bmp]: Printer does not
support bitmaps in C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs\sagra\print_test.php on
line 26

bmp image is not printed out, while all other calls to printer_* functions
work.

Any idea ?
