Assuming you want the output in HTML.

Bad suggestion. PHP short tags should be disabled. To start with, they will interfere with XML tags.

<?php echo $desserts[1]; ?>

is more correct. But there is also no problem with something like:

<?php echo $desserts[1] . '<br>' . $QandA[1]; ?>

or one of several other ways which do not use short tags.
