localhost?

Hey There

i'm finaly on the road with php... Therefor i used asp/access and i want to get rid of that. What i need to know is how i can tell the system where the localhost should be. It is now somewhere i do not want it.

"This is your root directory /www , any files that you wish to view through apache need to go in this directory". So, how do i tell the system it must not be at: c:\phpdev\www but at d:\www

Anyone? Or is this not possible at all?
