host websites on subdomain in intranet?

Hey,

I was wondering if someone could help me with this. I currently have a
server rented from a company that is being used as an intranet. I have
a limited number of subdomains and databases that I am allowed to use.

What I want to do is create a subdomain e.g.
websites.mycompany.intranet

I then want to allow people within the company to have 2mb of webspace
each where they can upload a few html files for a personal website.
The server I have access to is running plesk.

The obvious solution to this is for me to manually create a folder for
each user and upload each of the files then create an index page of
some sort and manually create the links to each index page within the
folder but i was hoping for an easier solution.

i have been scouring open source websites for a few hours now and can't
really find what i am looking for.

any help would be much appreciated

.
