PHP fails 'make test'

Has anyone else had this problem? I make PHP and then I run 'make test'
and it fails tests. This is the only package I know of that does that,
fails it own tests!. Anyway I have tried PHP 4.4.4 (failed 2 tests), PHP
5.1 (failed 10 tests) and PHP 5.2 (failed 9 tests). I have tried to
send the error report according to the instructions but the company
apparently already knows that they get thousands of failures and the
mail address bounces. So the software fails it's own tests, the company
won't support, running the program works some but also crashes the Linux
server some. PHP is clearly not ready for prime time. Anyway, does
anyone know the solution? Or a way to find help? Thanks.
