breaking lines and = character in pear mail

Hallo,
maybe a stupid question but I find that lines are breaking while
sending a
pear mime mail. I send an activation code that is broken (and thus
not
functioning).
Also I notice that there are funny = characters sometimes in the text.
(also
in the activation code).
Is there a easy way to prevent his?
