Give benefit of doubt to perl newbies

I have been posting in Usenet since 1994 and have rarely found a group
that has an up-to-date FAQ like this one. I would guestimate that 95%
of usenet groups do not have an up-to-date FAQ. For this reason it is
incorrect to assume a newbie out to know to check the FAQ before
posting since it is rarely done. A simple polite pointer that this
group is unlike others in that there is already a great FAQ is enough.
That's all I have to say.
