Gnome panel applets and Gtk2::TrayIcon

Hi,
I'm using Gtk2::TrayIcon to run a program in the gnome panel.
Is there another module to use that would allow the perl script to be
placed anywhere with in the panel rather than being locked to the
"Tray" position?
