I'm coding my first web site using a mysql
database and DBI.
I can fetch records from the database
with no problem, but I'm having trouble
testing NULL values. If I load the value
of a date field into a variable ($dateadded),
how should the IF condition be written?
if (!defined $dateadded) works perfectly!
Note that, if what you want to do is filter out records for which a certain
field is NULL, you're probably better off doing that in your SQL, with an
IS NOT NULL clause in your conditional:
SELECT foo, bar FROM baz WHERE foo IS NOT NULL
AND bar >= 30
