For the beginner, I recommend Perl For Dummies (2nd Edition) by Paul
Hoffman. I'm not big on the Dummy or Idiot books, but found this to be
well laid out, easy to follow, with good examples. I've had mine for
about 6 years now. I find it's so well laid out and covers a lot of the
important stuff so well, that I reference it on a regular basis. So much
so, that the pages are starting to come out of the binding & the cover
is defiantly showing years of usage and wear. Personally I would not part
with this book, and am ready to buy a 2nd copy before I have a hard time
finding it. But hey, that is just me... I hope this helps...
