Net::Pcap Install test fail

Environment:
        Fedora Core 3
        yum updated libpcap-0.8.3
        tarball download of Net-Pcap.0.5
        Perl 5.8.5

Problem:
        Makefile.PL works fine and creates Makefile
        make works
        make install works
        make test fails on 07-stats.t

Discussion:
        The only error is "bad statistics". Has anyone else seen this problem? How can I further
troubleshoot the issue?
