Request help from a Perl learner

Hi list,
   
I am a database administrator(oracle) wanting to learn Perl for
scripting and administrative purposes.
   
Can you please suggest some book(s)/sites for learning Perl. How long
does it take to learn Perl, given that I have maintained some Perl
scripts for a year - not much work, but I can say I have seen them.
Also, I have been a programmer for several years.
   
I have downloaded Perl for Windows. I hope it is not much different
from the Perl for Unix (used at work).
