Well, I'm processing from a Linux box, and the files are created
on the same box, however your comment tipped me off: for some
reason I need to open the files with '<:crlf' to get this
to work.

For the record what happened here is that I had shared
calendars in SquirrelMail and I upgraded the shared
calendar plugin. When I did that the old entries stopped
showing up, and the reason why is that they didn't have
the time components.

Anyway, changing to '<:crlf' fixed the problem I was
having, so thanks again for all the tips. Now
I can continue on and actually make the program change
the files.
