Mac::Carbon Bug

Can anyone provide details on if a workaround exists for the growing lists of defects for Mac::Carbon not being installable?

I'm in need of installing DBI on my MacBook.
As a general practice I was going to 'install Bundle::CPAN'
and then install DBI.

Neither of them can be installed.
Not happy.
