The problem is that people are posting to Perl Monks,
comp.lang.perl.misc, and the perl.beginners list at the same time.
Thus wasting the time of at least two groups of people.


Then, can we make a gateway between comp.lang.perl.misc and this list?
That will save a lot time for both posters and answers.


No message should ever be posted to both groups. They exist to serve
different needs. Anyone cross-posting is essentially spamming one list
or the other. comp.lang.perl.misc is a group for experience
programmers to ask complicated questions. Any question that is
appropriate to CLPM is almost by definition beyond the scope of this
list. And on the other hand, any question thatis appropriate to this
list will annoy the readers of CLPM.

That is as it should be. When this list tells you "interesting
question, but not really appropriate to a beginner's list," you go
post it CLPM. Otherwise, why have two groups at all?

On the other hand, if you want to use google reader to read this
group, you can do that. There is an smtp-nntp gateway, and you can
subscribe to this group at
http://groups.google.com/group/perl.beginners/
