    C:\>ppm install ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/5.8.3/DBI.ppd
    Error: Failed to download URL
    ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/5.8.3/DBI.ppd: 404 Can't chdir to
    5.8.3

    Jeff,
    I have 5.8.3.
The above is the message I got.
I went to ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/ and click the 5.8.3, then
chose DBI.ppd, there is no such file there!!

Could you check that FTP website for me??? -- I will need both the DBI
    and DBD-Oracle.
Could I have you phone number because I need to ask what to do if it
    still doesn't work.

    Thanks.

    ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/DBD-Oracle.ppd

But they both showed no files available except the message:

Oracle database driver for the DBI module Tim Bunce (dbi-users@perl.org)

    ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/DBD-ODBC.ppd
ODBC driver for the DBI module. Tim Bunce and Jeff Urlwin
    mailto:dbi-users@perl.org

Did you a) check your version of perl? Is it 5.8.0, 5.8.1, 5.8.2, etc?

If you have 5.8.3, for example:
            ppm install ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/5.8.3/DBI.ppd
            ppm install
    ftp://ftp.esoftmatic.com/outgoing/DBI/5.8.3/DBD-Oracle.ppd

    Etc

    Jeff
