perl v5.8.0 DBI core on AIX 5.2

My sys admin has installed perl::DBI on AIX 5.2 and when I try to load
this in my perl client ..I get a core..

cat test.pl

#!/usr/bin/perl
use DBI;
~

Can some please point me on how to read a core or any solutions in this
regard.
