DBD-Oracle Compatibility

Hi,

We have perl 5.6.0 installed here. Current version of DBI is 1.35 and that
of DBD::Oracle is 1.12.

Now I want to install DBI 1.5 and DBD::Oracle 1.17 so that I can connect
to Oracle 10g databases. Will it be a problem?

I wouldn't be using Oracle Binaries or Client Libraries. I would continue
to use Oracle 8i Binaries and Client Libraries while I connect to a
Database Schema created on Oracle 10g.

Thanks,
Sriram
