Yes, I was just trotting out a hobbyhorse: the view that using
simple, easily implemented algorithms for solving problems is
very cool when the problem doesn't call for any sophisticated
methods.

Also, I'm very fond of brute search, and like to implement brute
search solutions in Prolog of problems that other people think of
as challenging mathematical puzzles.
