What's up with Visual Prolog?

I had high hopes for it, but it is raising serious concerns. It reports
errors when I use semicolons (disjunction) and it gripes incessantly about
mismatches in the modes of the predictes like "procedure,
determ,non-determ,multi" , etc.
My program works just fine in SWI-prolog. Does VP really consider my
design to be that flawed?
