Nothing. What is wrong, philosophically, with asserting these items
into the logicbase? Again, I'm not saying this is always the best
approach for any given problem, and I'm not saying that your approach
isn't better for this or another problem, depending on many variables
of course. But I see no reason why it shouldn't be considered a valid
approach (again, depending on the particular problem at hand).

This last comment is not directed at you (it's just a general
comment), and I say it with all due respect, but it sort of reminds me
of the jihad many years ago against the goto statement. Sure -
spaghetti code is bad, and anything can be taken to an extreme. But I
always believed there was nothing inherently evil about a goto
statement, and many times it is the easiest, most understandable, and
simplest solution in a code block.
