I've never heard of such a feature, so I'll be interested to see if anyone
can come up with something.
In the meantime, you could draw an unfilled rectangle over the square in
question in, say, bright blue with line width 3, then flash it on and off a
few times. That would surely make for a more attractive highlighter than an
XORed square...?
