PostScript printing via CUPS

Mandrake 9.2 on Sony VAIO GRT270 : Tcl/Tk 8.4

The output from lpr is unexpectedly scaled to ~70% of what it should
be. I am using a homegrown Tcl/Tk address label program which works
perfectly with lpr and CUPS on my desktop system under Mandrake 9.1.
What it does is to run lpr on a PostScript file generated from a
Tcl/Tk canvas widget and it has been doing that successfully for
years, from RedHat 6 through Mandrake 7, 8 to 9.1. Is there a quick
fix for this? I might add that OpenOffice.org is not affected by this
problem and the test page looks exactly as it should. The -o
scaling=<% value> option to lpr does not have any effect - I tried 100
and 160 - no change. The output to the canvas looks exactly as it
should, and exactly as it does under Mandrake 9.1.

The experts at MandrakeSoft were unable to help and passed the problem
on to Till Kampeter, but he has no experience with Tcl/Tk and offered
the opinion that there may be something amiss with the Tcl/Tk
libraries. Has anybody else had a problem like this?
