Linking issues...

I have a linux binary linked again libtclstub.8.3x and libtkstub.8.3.x.
Now on a machine that has only an 8.4 release installed, the application
fails because it can't find libtcl8.3.x and libtk8.3.x

Is there a general solution to this problem, or do I have to maintain
multiple distros? I guess starkits could work, but I am wondering if
there is a simpler solution?

Again, is there a 64 bit issue here?
