tk_chooseDirectory -mustexist 1

Hello,
using tk_chooseDirectory with the option "-mustexist 1", does not allow
to typein a directory, that does not exist - so far, so good.
But if I tried to specify a non-existent directory and cancel the
dialog, than the non-existent directory is returned instead of an empty
string!
A bug? Or a feature?
