why is the pdf translation of the Tcl-saved eps file corrupted ?

I would appreciate your advice about fixing a platform-dependent font
problem.
I uploaded the same image in both EPS and PDF format.
The EPS was produced on a Sun system (wally). There are 2 PDF files
respectively generated on the same Sun system and on a Linux/Red-Hat
nodes cluster (heimdall).
I also uploaded two TXT files , "Heimdall-Info.txt" and
"Wally-Info.txt", containing all the info that I could find about the
two platforms (wally and heimdall) on which "ps3pdf13" produces
different results.
All images and text files can be accessed at the following website:
http://www.trusoftdev.za.net/maura
I'd like to summarize the history of such files.
The EPS file has been created by a Tcl/Tk program, running on the Sun
system (wally), through saving to the disk the canvas image.
Why are the fonts, in the PDF file generated on the Sun system,
corrupted. Whereas they are not in the
PDF file generated on the Linux/Red-Hat cluster ? After all the
original EPS file (which looks good) was created on the Sun system, and
the list of fonts available on the two platforms is the same (see the
uploaded text files).
If I succeed to successfully install Img then can I be sure that I'll
be able to save the canvas image directly to a PDF file and get the
same quality on both platforms ?
Thank you in advance,
Maura
