possible to control activesync via tcom?

I'm way in over my head here. I was asked if tcom could be used to drive ActiveSync. I don't know COM and I don't know ActiveSync; I do know tcom in general can drive COM-enabled windows apps, so I guess my question boils down to "does anybody know if ActiveSync is COM-enabled"?
I don't know how to get an answer to that question. I tried searching on microsoft.com but "activesync com" is a bit too vague of a question. Near as I can tell, activesync is not COM enabled, or whatever the phraseology is.
What I'm looking to do is to drive the pushing of some activesync buttons from a tcl program (read: enable or disable configuration options on the fly). As a last resort I may use twapi's send_key feature but I'd rather not do that.
