I find Tcl/Tk extremly ugly (not in terms of code, but how it looks on

This can all be alterered by changing the default colors, border widths,
etc. It is also a matter of taste as well.
See also the Tile extension http://wiki.tcl.tk/tile which addresses
the eye-candy/theming issue.
