serious projects. Because I'm now starting to develop an Inventory
System using Tcl/Tk.
Would anyone advise me against it?
1) It's a great language with lots of features that make it easy to use and
deploy.
2) .NET is not ant will not be the only means to develop applications for
windows. Or do you seriously expect a .NET implemented Word or Excel
anytime soon? the XML Notepad is slow enough and that's a simple app.
3) IMHO you can consume .NET services using tcom.
We don't know enough to make a "definite" recommendation.
Your Replies here would be my basis for a GO or NO GO with my current
project using Tcl/Tk.
What is the application architecture anyway? If Tcl is just a client
app for a database system, I see no problem.
However, if you are implementing a server running on windows where lots of people want to connect locally from windows, I'd think carefully whether
I'd push TCP/IP on them.
Lots of Greetings!
