Funny for a wiki hosting 99.9% English text...

The new environment is using a different database for
storing the wiki information, and it is balking when encountering the
invalid characters.

A "database" ? I had always assumed a wiki was just a bunch of files
with a human-friendly markup and a rendering/editing cgi... What's the
use of a database there ?
