n00b saying "hi"

I used to use Microsoft Money 2004 until I switched to a Mac recently. I figured I'd try to write my own accounts package (a home-brew kludge, not a full-fledged application).
I'm fairly familiar with Python, but I thought I'd give Tcl a go for the hell of it. So far, I think Tcl is pretty much OK - the syntax seems pretty easy to learn. And I'm always a bit wary of the Python use of whitespace.
In the back of my mind, I always figure that I /should/ be using a bigboy language like Lisp or Forth - but whenever I do, I always find that it's usually much easier to achieve what I want in a scripting language. Maybe someday someone will invent the perfect programming language.
