Are you sure? I downloaded the Linux binary today, and the fonts are definitely worse-looking than with 8.5a4 which I compiled with --enable-xft
We have an issue with the build machine that we use in that it has a botched Xft release. We'll need to find a new distro to base our builds off of to correct this problem.
