Hello all,
I experienced that builds of the Tcl and Tk source distributions
generate binaries whose names do not distinguish debug and non-debug
builds (using the suffix "g").
In my opinion, it would be worthwhile to see each specialty flag
result in unique name suffixs which could be combined:
debug vs non-debug
thread vs non-thread
32bit vs 64bit
and so on. The suffixes would be used on any installed file that is
unique to the configuration.
In this way, a site which has a need to support the various
combinations need to create a series of unique binary installation
directories for executables and libraries. Instead, one could install
everything into the same location.
