I eventually had to "teacup install --force ActiveState::ActiveTcl -is

this was for Windows XP?)
Hmm. The -force isn't too surprising, though I thought I had read that
issue had been cleared up. I know I ran into it early on. The weird
thing is the need to do an additional install.
Just a note though - there is still more useful tools available in
teacup! If you type:
teacup list --only uninstalled
you will see a list of all the packages that might be appropriate for
your computer, but that are not yet installed. (By might be, I mean
they are built for your system, however, it is my understanding that
the packages have, to date, been built by ActiveState but not run
through testing. If I misunderstand the state of things, I hope that I
will be (gently) corrected by my friends.
Also, if you run
teacup list --only newer
you will get a list of packages which have been updated since the
installation took place.
