Hmm, sounds like a politikum:

The first thing to recognize is that AOLserver is not for everyone. I
would not recommend it unless you have extreme needs, or if you don't
mind spending lots of time learning how it works. It isn't really a
matter of a lack of documentation or a difficulty in installation,
because of the first thing: there is no point in making AOLserver easy
to install for the casual developer, installation is no more difficult
to compile/install than Tcl, in fact, you have to compile/install Tcl
first. So installation is a basic skill that is required to

In fact you are telling here that people should keep away from AOLserver and not touch it unless they are nerds who like to spend ages in a dark basement figuring out how they can get to run this bloody piece of commodity software?

Keep on with that idea and you keep watching how people discard AOLserver (and OpenACS) in favour of much nicer environments:

Really, we have 2008 here. These are not the dark ages anymore, like 10 years ago... where such nitty gritty fiddle around was standard and everyone's bussiness!

If you can agree with this, then maybe you can believe that a book on
AOLserver would be useless.

No, I can't agree with that. Sorry...
If you putting it that way, then trust me: AOLserver is dead in a few years! As soon as the last enthusiast retires... because there will likely not be any more "senior developers". By then they have reached the Senior level with Apache and Rails (or TurboGears, or whatever).
