Re: Possible revival of comp.lang.tcl.announce

Perhaps it would be a good (important) idea to post (if possible) a

to comp.lang.tcl.

While someone could forge a message to do that, it would in all
likelihood not get distributed very far.

As long as the group is set up like it is now, only spam or forgeries
appear there.

Personally, I would prefer one of two things to happen - either a
concerted effort be made to erase the existence of the group from the
internet (a herculean task) or a revitalized group.

From a rather pessimistic point of view, comp.lang.tcl - at least in
the only form I can access it ... via google ... has become nearly
overrun with spam. I frankly can't tell if my efforts to report spam
messages are clearing out any of the messages or not. New ones arrive
faster than I can report.

At this point, I personally see usenet as an obsolete technology. Some
kind of replacement for it, with the ability to move or remove
irrelevant postings, etc. is really needed, in my opinion.
But that would take resources which may not be available.
